So, it's official! I have gestational diabetes! The fingerpricking and carb counting have begun. This pretty much sucks but what can you do when you're at risk for getting it when multiple people on both sides of your family have a history of diabetes? I'm just going to take care of myself the best way I can so the baby and I don't have complications. Thank goodness I only have about 9 weeks left!

Focal Point

Brian and I went to the first of five child prep classes on Tuesday night. The instructor had Brian pick an object out of a bag without looking. Below is what he picked and what we were told will be my focal point for the birth. Really, it's just my focal point for the class but I guess if we remember to pack it and I'm not killing someone, then I may use it for the actual birth day.

We've done it now!

Well, I guess that we finally got on the wagon, the baby making wagon that is. Brian and I are excepting our first child in March. We found out last Saturday but didn't tell the family until this past Friday and Saturday. I'm about 6 weeks according to an online pregnancy calculator but I won't get an official date or anything until August 17. I haven't been sick or anything yet, just a little stomach ache here and there. I'm hoping it stays that way but we'll see.
